Industry at its finest gives rise to culture, forging original combinations of value and values, profitability and social relations
In this section you can browse a series of thematic areas that cut across all the documents currently published in the online historical archive. The areas relate to the many products made by Pirelli throughout its history, the trade fairs where they were shown, the production and work sites (offices and factories), the means of transport that have fitted Pirelli tyres over the years (cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, agricultural machinery and aeroplanes), and sporting events in which Pirelli has taken part during the course of its history, with a particular focus on the world of racing. The items, which are linked to each other hierarchically in a tree-like structure, can be searched from the general to the particular, giving as the result all the document types that relate to the area selected.
In addition to the filters already in place, the same categories can also be explored within each section (documents, photographs, audio-visuals, and drawings and posters, with the only exception of the magazines, for which there is a full-text search of the articles), thus enriching your browsing experience in the online historical archive.
Established in 2008 Pirelli Foundation starts to operate in 2009 at the request of the Group and of the Pirelli family, in order to protect and disseminate knowledge of the company's cultural, historical and contemporary heritage and to promote its business culture. The Pirelli Foundation is headquartered at "Fabbricato 134", a historical building in the former Pirelli industrial district at the heart of a major urban redevelopment project in 1985 called "Progetto Biccocca", a symbol of transformation from the industrial age to the post-industrial era.
