The History and Future of a Poster
In the footsteps of the masters of graphic art
For over 140 years, Pirelli advertising has helped write the history of visual communication. From the artistic advertisements of the early twentieth century to the creations of the great names of Italian and international graphic design in the 1950s and 1960s, through to the global campaigns of the 1990s. Behind every advertisement is a long work of unseen research and creativity. The students will follow an online guided tour of the Pirelli Foundation with in-depth multimedia analysis and observation of the works created by the graphic designers and advertising agencies who have worked with Pirelli, so they will be able to discover the details and secrets of their creative processes. The students will be divided into groups and asked to create a bumper sticker, bringing some legendary Pirelli campaigns up to date. The course will be held entirely online and may consist of a number of events (with a maximum of three encounters) depending on the needs of the teacher and the class.
