The factory through the eyes of artists

La fabbrica raccontata dagli artisti, an educational course offered by the Pirelli Foundation, uses historical and contemporary archival documents to illustrate the role of corporate patronage in the creation of works of art, paintings, photographs, architecture, and literary and musical pieces.

For lower secondary schools, the focus was on musical expression, and in particular on the work entitled Il canto della fabbrica. The suite was composed in 2017 by Maestro Francesco Fiore, taking from the sounds and rhythms of the Pirelli digital factory in Settimo Torinese so that it could be performed by the famous violinist Salvatore Accardo and by the Orchestra da Camera Italiana. The course came to an end when the composer himself, a guest at the Pirelli Foundation in October 2019, accompanied the students as they listened to his musical work.
