Workers
The factory has a soul that we captured in the faces and looks of its protagonists, conveying the atmospheres and overtones of different lifestyles and relationships

Seeking to convey the spirit of the factory through the faces and looks of its protagonists. This was the message offered by the exhibition Workers, put on in 2010 by the Pirelli Foundation at the Giardinera in Settimo Torinese.
In seventy shots, Workers tells the story of Pirelli’s industrial adventure, both past and future, in the men and women who devote their intelligence, skills and energy to it every day.
The seventy photographs by Carlo Furgeri Gilbert illustrated the whole story of Pirelli’s industrial adventure, which is written in the faces of the men and women who devote their intelligence, their energies, and their skills to this adventure on a daily basis. A surprise photo taken at work, a possibly unknown look, hands dirty with grease, smiles in eyes at times marked by fatigue.
But all satisfied looks, of people who are aware and proud of their skills. Doing a job well done, knowing that the old factory would soon give them the surprise of entering the 4.0 Industrial Centre that the Settimo plant has since become.
