At the heart of this policy is the rubber compound: a sophisticated blend of ingredients whose formula ensures the fundamental features of a tyre, such as grip, wear, safety, and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>Looking through the documents in the Historical Archive \u2013 including patents, formula books, material studies, alongside books and magazines from the scientific and technical library \u2013 the students will be able to retrace the story of Pirelli\u2019s work in the fields of materials and sustainability: a tale of innovation that continues to this day.<\/p>\n<p>The class will then have a chance to visit the advanced chemistry laboratory where raw materials, parts, and compounds are tested. Alternatively, they will visit the Continuous Compound Mixing (CCM) unit, the innovative system patented by Pirelli that ensures high levels of precision in mixing right from the start of the production process.<\/p>\n<p><em>The activity takes place at the Pirelli Foundation and in the physics and chemistry labs or at the CCM unit.
