{"id":51163,"date":"2016-11-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-10T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fondazionepirelli.org\/fondazione-pirelli\/pirelli-and-motor-scooters\/"},"modified":"2022-04-21T16:44:03","modified_gmt":"2022-04-21T15:44:03","slug":"pirelli-and-motor-scooters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fondazionepirelli.org\/en\/activities\/stories-from-world-of-pirelli\/pirelli-and-motor-scooters\/","title":{"rendered":"Pirelli and motor scooters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Historical documents from Fondazione Pirelli at the <strong>74th EICMA<\/strong><em>. <\/em>Fondazione Pirelli will be present at the Pirelli stand during the prestigious <strong>International Cycle and Motorcycle Exhibition<\/strong> (EICMA) in Milan from November 8 to 13 with a reconstruction of the<strong> history of products for motor scooters<\/strong> during the economic boom through advertisements, videos and materials picked from the Historical Archive.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionepirelli.org\/archivio-storico\/fotografie\/search\/result.html?query=&amp;jsonVal=%7B%22jsonVal%22%3A%7B%22query%22%3A%5B%22Scooter%22%5D%2C%22startDate%22%3A%22%22%2C%22endDate%22%3A%22%22%2C%22fieldDate%22%3A%22dataNormal%22%2C%22_perPage%22%3A20%2C%22autoreFoto%22%3A%22%5C%22Patellani%2C+Federico%5C%22%22%7D%7D&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Federico Patellani<\/strong><\/a>&#8216;s photographs \u00a0and the advertising campaigns created by major artists such as <strong>Lora Lamm<\/strong>, <strong>Bob Noorda<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionepirelli.org\/archivio-storico\/disegni-e-manifesti\/search\/result.html?query=scooter&amp;oggettoIco=&amp;titoloIco=&amp;autoreAmbitoIco=&amp;descrizioneIco=&amp;startDate=&amp;endDate=&amp;campagnaIco=&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ezio Bonini<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Max Huber<\/strong> bear witness to the new, &#8220;comfortable and fast&#8221; way of travelling on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionepirelli.org\/archivio-storico\/bookreader\/pubblicazioni-e-riviste\/RivistaPirelli\/1956_4.html?q=motorette&amp;start=21&amp;lang=en#page\/20\/mode\/2up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">motorettes<\/a>\u201d (as they were called in an article that appears in the Rivista Pirelli in 1950) that would become the <strong>symbol of the Italian economic development of the 1950s and 1960s<\/strong> capable of producing that celebrated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rivistapirelli.org\/en\/selezione_antologica\/gli-scooters-o-il-piacere-del-vento-in-faccia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">feeling of freedom and \u201cwind in your hair\u201d<\/a>.\u00a0 Pirelli was the first Italian company to make tyres for motor scooters at end of the 1940s outfitting the first \u201c<strong>Vespa<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>Lambretta<\/strong>\u201d models. An advertisement dated <strong>1952<\/strong> announced that &#8220;<strong>the first factory\u00a0<\/strong>to design tyres for motor scooters in Italy was Pirelli, providing a valid contribution to the success of this very modern vehicle. Pirelli has perfected production over time with the <strong>largest assortment\u00a0<\/strong>of sizes and types, to the extent that most motor scooters leaving the factories and travelling on Italian roads are fitted with Pirelli tyres&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The Pirelli tradition in the production of tyres for motor scooters continues today with the launch of the two new <strong>Angel<\/strong> and <strong>Diablo Scooter<\/strong> products.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Historical documents from Fondazione Pirelli at the 74th EICMA.
