In particular, it will show its photos for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionepirelli.org\/archivio-storico\/pubblicazioni-e-riviste\/IT-PIRELLI-BIB0001-0021289?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>Pirelli:<\/em> <em>Rivista d\u2019informazione e di tecnica<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, the historic company magazine published from 1948 to 1972. For over two decades, the magazine was an arena for the most advanced cultural debates in Italy. It epitomised the fusion of liberal culture and scientific and technical knowledge, with the contribution of famous authors such as <strong>Dino Buzzati<\/strong>, <strong>Italo Calvino<\/strong>, Gillo Dorfles, <strong>Umberto Eco<\/strong>, Arrigo Levi, Eugenio Montale, Salvatore Quasimodo, Elio Vittorini, and dozens of others.<\/p>\n<p>For the extraordinary opening for the <strong>\u201cArchivi Aperti\u201d<\/strong>, a special guided tour will focus on the 1960s through the eyes of the great photographers who worked with the magazine: from <strong>Ugo Mulas<\/strong>\u2019s encounters with the great protagonists of contemporary art to <strong>Arno Hammacher<\/strong>\u2019s documentation of the construction of the Milan metro system. And then there are the photo shoots by <strong>Fulvio Roiter<\/strong>, <strong>Enzo Sellerio<\/strong> and the great photojournalism agencies of the time.<\/p>\n<p>The collection of photographs used for the magazine consists of over<strong> 5,000<\/strong> <strong>published and unpublished prints<\/strong>. These are some of the approximately <strong>700,000<\/strong> <strong>photographs<\/strong> of products, factories, trade fairs and shows, and motorcar, motorcycle and cycling races, as well as fashion shoots, that constitute the photographic holdings of the <strong>company\u2019s Historical Archive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During the special opening for \u201cArchivi Aperti\u201d, visitors will also be able to see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionepirelli.org\/en\/exhibition\/advertising-with-a-capital-p\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>Advertising with a Capital P<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, the new multimedia display put on <strong>to celebrate the<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionepirelli.org\/en\/event\/10th-anniversary-of-the-pirelli-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Foundation\u2019s tenth anniversary<\/strong><\/a>. The event is devoted to Pirelli\u2019s stunning audio-visual materials, with a focus on the company\u2019s advertising campaigns from the 1970s to the early 2000s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, 20 October 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two admission times: 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. (duration of the visit: about 1 hour and 30 minutes)<\/p>\n<p>Booking required, while places last.
