A morning at the Pirelli Foundation to discover and examine the close ties between the world of industry and that of culture. More than 50 lower-secondary school students<\/strong> took part today in the \u201cLa fabbrica raccontata dagli artisti\u201d<\/strong> (The Factory through the Eyes of Artists) course. The young people had a chance to see, read and listen to the works of great artists who have worked with Pirelli<\/strong> in its almost 150-year history<\/strong>. Photographers, painters, film directors, and writers who, with their different techniques, visions, and points of view have narrated and interpreted the twentieth-century and contemporary factory. From Fulvio Bianconi to Renato Guttuso, Alessandro Mendini to Ugo Mulas, Dino Buzzati to Silvio Soldini, and Alessandro Scotti to Carlo Furgeri Gilbert.<\/p>\n

Music, in particular, was the star, from John Cage\u2019s concerts at the Pirelli Tower to the experience of Salvatore Accardo in \u201cIl Canto della Fabbrica\u201d<\/strong>, explained on this special occasion by Maestro Francesco Fiore<\/strong> himself, the composer of the piece. The maestro, the famous musician of the Orchestra da Camera Italiana<\/strong> and first viola of the Orchestra del Teatro dell\u2019Opera in Rome<\/strong>, guided the students through the work, which was commissioned by the Pirelli Foundation and composed in 2017<\/strong>. It was inspired by the sounds of the digital factory<\/strong> in the Pirelli Technology Centre in Settimo Torinese.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
