World Poetry Day is celebrated on 21 March, the first day of spring\u2014a symbol of cultural renewal through the power of poetry.<\/p>\n

The event was established by UNESCO in 1999 to encourage the reading, writing, and teaching of poetry as a means of fostering intercultural dialogue, peace, and linguistic diversity.
