Using period photographs and postcards found in historical archives, including that of the Pirelli Foundation, Massimo Ratti tells the story of almost forty years of the circuit that made the history of motor racing. It was in 1922 when, to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of its founding, the Automobile Club of Milan built the Monza circuit, on which the Italian Grand Prix was later held. Ratti calls it \u201cthe racetrack of heroes\u201d, celebrating the heroes who raced on it and met there as friends or rivals, competing in memorable events. The stunning photos in the book include those of Nuvolari driving his Alfa Romeo, or embracing his friend Giuseppe Campari, and we also see Enzo Ferrari, Rudolf Caracciola, Nino Farina, Juan Manuel Fangio, Stirling Moss, Alberto Ascari, and many other greats of the motor-racing world. Leafing through the pages of the book, in which we also find the wonderful posters of the races and the circuit, we find the true flavour of the world of motor racing in those years and get to know the champions of speed who made their mark on an era.<\/p>\n
