The years of lower secondary school bring memories of happy days, but also of tricky moments. Children grow up and experience this new adventure with their classmates, interacting with each other and creating friendships and rivalries. The protagonist of Sarah Spinazzola\u2019s book is Olivia, a twelve-year-old girl who is thrilled that her difficult first year of lower secondary school has come to an end and that her long-awaited holidays are about to begin. Her first year at this school was full of uncertainties and doubts, and anything but easy \u2013 a whole new world after the carefree years of elementary school. In her personal handbook, she writes down everything that happens to her during the year, from the terrible problem of pimples to the peculiar smell of the boy who shares her desk, not surprisingly nicknamed Onion, by way of her first crush and her rivalry with a very popular but snooty classmate. An important transitional moment in the life of every teenager, told with humour and wisdom.<\/p>
