World Book Day
World Book Day
World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated on 23 April. Established by UNESCO in 1991, the day promotes reading and the protection of authors’ rights.
The event is also known as “Book and Rose Day”. This refers to a medieval Catalan tradition linked to the Feast of Saint George, during which it is customary to give a rose. To link the two holidays, booksellers in Catalonia offer a rose with every book purchased.
