Quality in Action
How do you turn a good idea into a top-quality product? And how does technology help make it safer, more reliable, and more sustainable? In this workshop, the students will see how the striving for quality affects every single step of factory work. Using photos, film footage, and documents from the Pirelli Historical Archive, we will see how materials and production methods have changed over time to improve both products and production processes. The students will learn how sensors, robots, and digital tools have now become vital partners. They keep watch over every stage of production to ensure ever-higher standards while also caring for workers and the environment.
In the practical session, the students will step into the shoes of engineers and technicians. They will design and build robots that can use sensors to check whether a product is complete and made to a high standard, experiencing first-hand how fresh ideas, creativity, and technology can bring real results.
The activity takes place at the Pirelli Foundation and is for a single class.
