At the Heart of Innovation:
Real Meets Virtual
This workshop will introduce the students to industrial research and innovation by linking the history of the company, as preserved at the Pirelli Foundation, with the scientific and technological skills that drive the development of the firm today.
The visit to the Pirelli Foundation will give the students a chance to find out how materials, production processes, and design culture have evolved over time. The participants will be taken on a journey through the history of tyres, from the Ercole to the Stelvio, the Cinturato and the P Zero, all the way up to the Cyber Tyre™ system – a prime example of the most advanced solutions for smart mobility.
Afterwards, the class will visit the Pirelli R&D Labs where they will be able to observe the most important tyre testing and validation processes: from digital designs to indoor tests on prototypes. This shows how research, high-end technological solutions, and technical skills combine to help create safer, top-performing, and more sustainable tyres.
The activity takes place in person at the Pirelli Foundation and at the Pirelli R&D Centre. A single class of students starting from the third year is expected to participate.
