MuseoCity 2019: Pirelli, a Story of
Innovation and Passion

Every year, MuseoCity – an event promoted by the City of Milan – lets the public through the doors of the most significant places that constitute the city’s vast and varied cultural fabric. For the 2019 edition, the Pirelli Foundation put on Pirelli, a Story of Innovation and Passion: Rubber, Technology, Work and Environment, a sweeping tale that has unfolded over a century and a half of industry, machines, raw materials, and research laboratories.

Sustainability has been a guiding thread along the way, with human ingenuity interacting with the environment, and the search for innovative materials and environmentally friendly production processes. It pays special attention to the youngest visitors as well, with workshops devoted to water, air, earth and fire – the “natural elements for a good tyre”. Starting from the plantations of rubber trees in which Pirelli has its roots.
