Industrial Architecture at the
2016 Triennale di Milano
An exhibition put on by the Pirelli Foundation at its Headquarters in Milano Bicocca as part of the XXI Triennale di Milano International Exhibition in the spring of 2016.
Industrial buildings are certainly one field to which, over the years, Pirelli has contributed both content and ideas, ever since the opening of the first factory in 1873. The Industrial Architectures: From the Bicocca Project to the Settimo Torinese Industrial Centre was the title of an exhibition promoted by the Pirelli Foundation at its Milano Bicocca headquarters as part of the XXI Triennale di Milano International Exhibition in the spring of 2016. “A Journey Through the Places and Stories of Pirelli”, explained the subtitle: from the original premises in Via Ponte Seveso to the birth of the industrial citadel of Bicocca, through to Gio Ponti’s magnificent intuition for the Pirelli Tower, and to the Industrial Centre in Settimo Torinese, the Spina development backbone of which was designed by Renzo Piano, respecting the most advanced environmental sustainability criteria.
