All the details in the news
Antonio Manzini, author of the famous Rocco Schiavone saga, is back with a new crime novel, this time with a different cast of characters. Carlo Cappai is a former policeman, who works as an archivist at the Court of Bologna. The archive is full of old files, often linked to cases that were closed in a hurry or never solved. Carlo studies them carefully, driven by a thirst for justice that is not quenched in the official channels of the law, but also by the ghosts of his past that have worn him down for years. A past that harks back to the violent Bologna of the Seventies. The second voice of the novel is that of Walter Andretti, a sports journalist who has recently moved on to crime reporting. The two meet when Andretti is called to cover two murder cases, which may be related to each other. Manzini writes a thriller that is melancholic but has a compelling rhythm, does not fail to surprise and questions the boundary between law and justice.
