    Bancarella Award 2024

    The Bancarella Prize 2024 was awarded on Sunday 21st July . The award was created by Pontremolese booksellers in 1953 and took place first in Mulazzo, before moving to Pontremoli. The winner of the 72nd edition of the Award was “Il cognome delle donne” (The surname of women), by Aurora Tamigio, published by Feltrinelli, the book with the highest number of votes from independent booksellers. The author received the sculpture of “Saint John of God”, protector of booksellers, by the artist Umberto Piombino. The Bancarella Sport Award, which is celebrating its 61st anniversary, was awarded to the book “La piuma del ghetto” (The Ghetto Feather), by Antonello Capurso, published by Gallucci.
