

Dino Buzzati
Dino Buzzati was born in San Pellegrino di Belluno on 16 October 1906 and died in Milan on 28 January 1972. As well as a journalist, painter and playwright, Buzzati was a great novelist and writer of surreal and fantasy stories, especially remembered for Il deserto dei Tartari (The Tartar Steppe), Barnabò delle montagne (Barnabo of the mountains), La famosa invasione degli orsi in Sicilia (The bears' famous invasion of Sicily) and Un amore (A love affair). Dino Buzzati also wrote several articles for the Pirelli: rivista d’informazione e tecnica (Pirelli: informative and technical magazine), such as “Piccole storie del grattacielo” (“The skyscraper's short stories”) published in 1970 to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the “Pirellone” skyscraper.
