John Keats
On 23 February 1821, John Keats, one of the greatest English poets and a leading figure of Romanticism, died in Rome. Although not always appreciated by the critics of his time, Keats was later re-evaluated, to such an extent that Oscar Wilde considered him to be the greatest poet of the nineteenth century. His works include the memorable Hyperion, Endymion and Lamia.
