The little mermaid and other fairy tales
After almost two centuries from its first publication, publisher L’Ippocampo revives and presents Andersen's classic in a refined edition that blends literature, illustration and interactive elements. Thanks to these expedients, reading becomes an activity that goes beyond the mere narrative and becomes an experience that is both aesthetic and playful, in which the mermaids dance as in a merry-go-round, offering children and grown-ups “a collector's item that will fascinate more than one generation”. Thus, alternating illustrations and words, readers almost feel as if they're actually entering the palace of the Sea King, which unfolds beyond the pages with a delicate pop-up, and, by turning a carved foldaway wheel, can watch the little mermaid disappear and reappear above the surface of the water. There’s more, however, as this is a collection that includes other renowned fables and fairy tales by the Danish author: from “The ugly duckling” to “The tinderbox”, from “The little match girl” to “Thumbelina” – all featuring an extremely refined 3D effect that will have readers lose themselves into a fully immersive experience.
