Valentin Louis Georges Eugène Marcel Proust was born in Paris on 10 July 1871 and died on 18 November 1922. Proust is considered one of the greatest writers of all times and is especially renowned for his seven-volume novel À la recherche du temps perdu (In search of lost time), an incredible literary oeuvre published between 1913 and 1927 that, just like the protagonist Marcel's journey through time and memory, unfolds to explore events and inner conflicts through a circular narrative structure.
