

Natalia Ginzburg
Natalia Levi was born in Palermo on 14 July 1916 and died in Rome on 8 October 1990. The famous Italian writer and playwright began to use the name Ginzburg, unconventionally (in Italy) taking it from her first husband, Leone Ginzburg, in 1938. She was very active in Italian political life, including as an activist in the Italian Communist Party. Her most famous works include Dear Michael, The Road to the City and the autobiographical novel Family Sayings.
