Grandma loses her words
A grandmother often goes out with her two grandchildren to a bridge overlooking the sea in Oslo, where they fly paper planes. On one of their walks on the bridge, poor grandma begins to forget her words, losing them just as one might an object. One of the two poor grandchildren is afraid and starts screaming – what will he do if his grandma can’t find her words any more? But one day the little boy starts writing and knows he can make a difference. The book is inspired by Edvard Munch’s painting The Scream, and it manages to treat the subject of disease and the fragility of human beings in a delicate, elegant manner, with simple words that reach right to the hearts of children.
