Pocket guide for children’s book maniacs
Fables, fairy tales, novels, short stories, poems, diaries...
The world of literature for children and young adults is an extraordinarily broad and constantly changing territory. “Guida tascabile per maniaci dei libri per ragazzi” aims to map what has already been written for children (the classics of yesterday and today) and to look to the future, to the matters still to be addressed, big and small. The mysterious Clichy group (made up of experts and insiders from the publishing world) divides the guide by genres, themes, types of narration and also age range, from the oldest to the youngest. So, reflections on what the iconic Sandokan, Robinson Crusoe, Peter and Wendy can still convey are accompanied by new titles released since 2000. These are the classics "of tomorrow". Classics that also include many titles for the more critical middle grade and young adult segment. And then, a list of authors and illustrators, complete with biographies, and topics which - if tackled at the right time and in the right ways - can be shared with readers of all ages.
The Guide ends with a section dedicated to interviews with publishing houses to clarify what drives and what kind of spirit inspires Italian publishers.
A non-fiction read for parents, but also for booksellers and librarians, open to unexplored and by no means "definitive" visions. For those who - in short - "have educational or support roles, those who are looking for books for others, in this case future young readers".
