Premio Campiello
On Friday 29 May, the names of the five finalists for the 2025 Premio Campiello were announced in the assembly hall of the Palazzo del Bo in Padua. This historic literary award, dedicated to Italian fiction, was set up in 1962 by the Industrialists of Veneto and is once again supported by Pirelli.
The Jury of Literary Experts, chaired by Roberto Cicutto, a film producer and former president of the Venice Biennale, chose the following books:
“L’immensa distrazione” by Marcello Fois (Einaudi)
“Storia di un’amicizia” by Ermanno Cavazzoni (Quodlibet)
“La vita sempre” by Elena Varvello (Guanda)
“La ragazzina” by Valeria Parrella (Feltrinelli)
“Lo sbilico” by Alcide Pierantozzi (Einaudi)
On the same occasion, the Premio Campiello Opera Prima was awarded to “Acqua sporca” by Nadeesha Uyangoda (Einaudi).
The overall winner will be crowned in Venice on Saturday, 3 October 2026.
