The Pirelli Foundation has celebrated its tenth anniversary: ten years of work, ten years of exhibitions and publications, ten years of workshops for schools and guided tours around the local area. Countless displays devoted to the history of Pirelli have been put on over the years, illustrating its dual Milanese and multinational identity. We have captured visions of factories and work, retrieving the views of the pioneers of photography, as well as bringing in great contemporary masters. The history of our advertising has been retraced through its timeless slogans and reinterpreted with digital and interactive media.
Thousands of enthusiasts have been able to see the unforgettable original advertising sketches that helped write the history of international design. And thousands of students have taken part in our workshops on graphics, cinema, photography, and robotics. Year after year, colleagues have come to visit us, curious to see what we have come up with to celebrate Christmas, or to celebrate Women’s Day on 8 March, to talk about customs and traditions regarding food and lunch breaks, or to examine important topical issues such as sustainability. We have also opened the doors of the Foundation to scholars looking for insight and information on the history of the twentieth century, and our ties with universities both in Italy and abroad have become ever closer. An essential part of the Foundation’s mission has always been to promote our brand and our corporate culture. The “History and Stories from the World of Pirelli” section, which has helped make known our vast heritage, wishes you well and looks forward to being back with you in 2019 with new stories to tell. Happy Holidays!
