Lucia Lopresti, better known by her pen name Anna Banti, passed away in Ronchi di Massa forty years ago, on 2 September 1985. A writer, translator and art critic, she made her debut in fiction in 1930 with the short story Barbara e la morte. Together with her husband, Roberto Longhi, she founded the magazine Paragone in 1950, dedicated to art and literature. In 1962 she published the story Ipotesi dietro gli occhiali neri in issue no. 5 of Pirelli magazine. Her most notable works include Artemisia, Le donne muoiono, Allarme sul lago, and Noi credevamo.
