Bertolt Brecht
Bertolt Brecht was born in Augsburg on 10 February 1898 and died in East Berlin on 14 August 1956. One of the greatest playwrights of the twentieth century, Brecht was forced into exile in 1933 following Hitler’s rise to power and the Nazi regime’s hostility towards his work. Among his most significant plays are The Threepenny Opera and Mother Courage and Her Children, as well as Life of Galileo, which also served as inspiration for We Are, a corporate short film by the Pirelli Foundation, produced by Muse Factory of Projects.
