

Charles Baudelaire
On 9 April, 1821, Charles Baudelaire, one of the greatest French poets, was born in Paris. Baudelaire was the leading exponent of French symbolism and a precursor of the artistic and literary Decadent movement; he also inspired the generation of French poets which followed, known as the poètes maudit. His most famous work is the poetry collection “Les Fleurs du Mal”.
