Filastrane
There are 26 letters in the alphabet, and 26 frogs in the book by Anna Lavatelli, illustrated by Emanuele Luzzati. Funny, amusing and croaking, the frogs that feature in this book come from various towns and cities around Italy. Each frog appears in a short poem that tells us of the life of different places in Italy, from Trentino to Sicily. Children will find out about little-known places with strange names. This is how the charming colourful frogs of Nibbiola, Roccanova, Gavello, Badia and many other towns tell us of a united Italy: “a boot full of frogs that are green, yellow, striped and unstriped: it makes no difference”.
