Considered one of the fathers of minimalism and a great commenter on life in provincial America, Carver is one of the greatest short story writers of the 20th century. By describing situations and details from daily life and a refined use of words, he can create moments of extraordinary intensity. His short story collections include What We Talk About When We Talk About Love, Cathedral and Where I’m Calling From.
