The Dance of the Gorilla
In the pages of La danza del Gorilla, Sandrone Dazieri's latest detective story, we find a tenebrous, violent Milan, in which the revolutionary ambitions of a group of friends come to grief, swept away by criminal gangs. The Gorilla, a detective in Dazieri's novels with a no-nonsense approach suffers from a dissociative identity disorder, and indeed he lives with "the Partner", his ruthless and violent double. He returns from Amsterdam, where he lives in a houseboat, and tries try to solve the case of an arson attack, in which an old friend of his has died. He thus finds himself investigating in the shadows of a suburb where the lights of the skyscrapers never shine. A place of crime, building speculation, the guardians of a public order with shady interests and money. Lots of money.
