More than just round and black

With Pirelli We Learn to... RESPECT

At first glance, tyres might seem all the same, just round, black objects that have remained pretty well the same forever. In actual fact, they are highly complex products that require from extensive and skilful research and development. And they require a deep commitment to sustainability, which starts in distant tropical forests and extends to the most modern factories worldwide. Countless technological advances have been made since the late nineteenth century, when rubber was first used to cover wheels for bicycles, motorcycles and carriages and later cars, providing us with greater comfort and mobility.

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
We’ll let words, images and sounds take us on a journey inside the tyre. Quizzes and games will help us follow the various stages involved in making tyres, in increasingly clean, eco-friendly factories. We’ll find out about the ingredients, from vegetable oils to rice husk, the geometric designs engraved on the surface, known as the tread, and the secrets that make Pirelli tyres increasingly safe, innovative and environmentally conscious. Like this, we shall see how well-directed technological innovation can be crucial for sustainable development.

OBJECTIVES
The children will learn about the various stages involved in making a tyre, from the raw materials to the finished product. They will also learn about how important it is for businesses, society and individuals to adopt new strategies that respect the environment.

This program will be conducted in a single meeting, either online or in-person, based on availability.
