Elastic Poem
With Pirelli We Learn to... CREATE
Poetry stretches the boundaries of the mind. It is as elastic as rubber, weaving words and sounds together to create something novel and beautiful that previously did not exist. The history of poetry shows that inspiration can be found even in the most ordinary aspects of our lives: in a leisurely stroll in the open air, in the supple embrace of a foam rubber toy, in erasers, and even tyres!
ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
The activity starts with a reading of some poems from the pages of Pirelli magazine, written by such inspired and imaginative authors as Alfonso Gatto and Bruno Munari, and some much more recent ones taken from the first two editions of the Campiello Junior literary award. Inspiration may also be taken from the poem that the writer Roberto Piumini composed for the award, but in any case we will have fun, armed with pen and paper, playing with words. Pirelli rubber experts use a whole range of different ingredients in their work and, like them, so will we in ours: a mix of rhymes, sounds, onomatopoeias and linguistic experiments will form a short poetic composition on this flexible material and its countless applications.
OBJECTIVES
The aim is to promote a passion for all forms of reading in the boys and girls, stoking their curiosity for poetry. The children will develop and enrich their language skills and creativity, and they will discover the beauty of our language and the importance of reading for their personal development.
This programme will consist of a single meeting conducted entirely online.
