From the Historical Archive to Product Development

Study the past to plan the future

Pirelli Collezione, 2019

The Pirelli Foundation plays a key role in supporting the Pirelli Collezione project, which produces and distributes a range of vintage car tyres. The Foundation’s Historical Archive contains documentation relating to the design, development, and industrialisation of all Pirelli tyres over the years: original mould designs, tread studies, technical test specifications, and approval documents, as well as price lists and catalogues. Having all this material available means it is now possible to reproduce tyres with historical accuracy to satisfy a variety of needs and requests. These tyres are identical in appearance to those originally mounted, while adopting the materials, technologies, and quality and safety standards of modern tyres. The Collezione range is currently focusing on the Cinturato lines, which were made using revolutionary technical solutions and came onto the market in the 1950s as the first in the family of all modern tyres. We would like to tell you their story.
