Jean Nicolas Arthur Rimbaud was born in Charleville, France, on 20 October 1854. Hailed as one of the greatest poets of the nineteenth century, Rimbaud transformed poetry with his rhythmic, fragmented, and visionary style. From a very early age he penned verses of striking modernity, leaving a profound mark on European literature.
