2017 Milano Photo Week: it Goes Like a Dream
Photoweek, a week devoted to the world of photography, is promoted by the City of Milan with the aim of introducing the general public to a form of expression that, together with cinema, is considered to be the “seventh art”.
In June 2017, the Pirelli Foundation took part in It Goes Like a Dream, a history of motorcar racing as viewed through the lenses of the greatest photographers of various periods. Over a century of victories with the most prestigious car manufacturers and with drivers who have made the history of motor racing, such as Tazio Nuvolari, Alberto Ascari, and Juan Manuel Fangio. And while It Goes Like a Dream intentionally took its name from Paolo Conte‘s song “Si va che è un incanto”, “Pronti, partenza…stampa!” – Ready, Set… Print! – echoed the world of children. Kids had a day devoted to them at Photoweek 2017, with a workshop where they learnt to make creative prints from gelatin plates. Just like in the old days…
