It Goes Like a Dream…
Over a hundred years of motor racing under the banner of the Long P were at the heart of the exhibition “It Goes Like a Dream: Stories of Races and Drivers, Challenges and Victories”, designed and put on by the Pirelli Foundation, on show from 13 September to 14 October 2011.

“Si va che è un incanto” (“It goes like a dream”) sang Paolo Conte, rhyming with the legendary Cinquecento amaranto. It Goes Like a Dream was the title of the exhibition put on by the Pirelli Foundation in the summer of 2011, when the “Long P” returned to Formula 1.
Stories of races and drivers, challenges and successes were illustrated in the large open space of the Foundation in Milano Bicocca: from the Alfa Romeos of the halcyon days of motor racing to the Ferraris and Maseratis that – with Ascari and Fangio – wrote the finest pages of racing in the 1950s. And going even further back, all the way to the glorious Peking-Paris race of 1907, which consecrated Pirelli tyres in the hall of fame of racing. Special attention was also paid a period, now almost in the distant past – in the 1980s – which with Toleman, Lotus, and Benetton, proved to be a fundamental test bench for Pirelli, helping it deal with the challenges of today.
