General description of the subjectThe Scuderia Argentina or "Equipo Argentino" pit in Galliate (Novara), the home town of the driver Achille Varzi. In 1949 the Equipo Argentino, the official team funded by the Argentinean government, moved to Galliate, first to Villa Varzi and, later, to the garage of Cavalier Cesare Pomella in Via Carducci. The drivers who raced for this team include Juan Manuel Fangio, Benedicto Campos and José Froilán Gonzáles, while one of the head mechanics was Amadeo Bignami, who had previously worked with Varzi.
